Flowers!

How about flowers? Lots of flowers? The Darkroom Door unmounted set has some beautiful flowers on it! I stamped some, masked some and stamped some more! And the verse goes wonderful with it: "All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today"
Did I mention I love flowers?

"All the Flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today"

Resist medium

I played some with resist mediums. This purple atc has the weed (Sheperd's Purse) stamped with Teykol. Then I added the color to the background and stamped the weed again with the Adirondack ink (wild plum)

This atc has little flowers stamped with Acrylic Paint Dabber snowcap. I think the effect isn't that strong because I tried to spray a mix (with minimister) of Distress tattered rose and perfect pearls gold over it. Tattered Rose is just too light a color to accent the white resist flowers in the background. I stamped some extra flowers with colorbox copper

This is a card with big flowers, also with acrylic paint dabber snowcap. Sprayed with a mix of cranberry and perfect pearls gold from the minimister. Cranberry is a strong enough color to really show the big white flowers in the background. Added big flowers stamped with Fired Brick distress ink.
I think I like Teykol best as a resist medium. And I have to remember to use strong colors for a better effect.

new stamps, love it!

I love new stamps, don't you? I always get inspiration with new stamps in my drawer. These new stamps are Darkroom Door (full bloom 2) and Chapel Roads (Thistle). I chose these also because of the georgeous quote's that go with them. You can do so much with them. Here are just two expamples I made today:

Ik hou van nieuwe stempels. Dan krijg ik altijd zoveel inspiratie. Alle technieken komen weer uit de kast. Deze nieuwe stempels zijn van Darkroom Door (Full Bloom 2) en Chapel Road (Thistle). Voornamelijk ook gekozen om de leuke quote's die erbij zitten! Hier zijn twee voorbeelden die ik vandaag heb gemaakt:

Tag

Tomorrow we go sailing with friends. It's promising to be a beautiful day tomorrow. Sunny and light winds. We always take a little something with us. You can't bring flowers when you go sailing so we will bring a bottle with us. Off course I found a solution for the missing flowers!

I am too tired to put the explanation here. I promise to blog that on monday!

explanation (uitleg):

background: adirondack paint dabber Juniper, big flower (Darkroom Door) embossed with copper, stamped background flowers (Darkroom DOor) with frostwhite and adirondack lettuce. Little flower stamped with Lettuce and embellished with a little bit of gold stickles. Distress Walnut Stain on the edge of the tag en the edges of the little flowers.

crop night!

Yesterday my friends visited me for our monthly crop night. We stimulate each other in making the most beautiful cards, atc's and scrap pages. These are my atc:

Gisteravond waren mijn vriendinnen weer op bezoek voor onze maandelijkse crop avond. We stimuleren elkaar om de mooiste creaties te maken. Dit zijn mijn atc:

I tried brayering with a big and juicy pad for a change. On different kinds of papers. I think the glossy paper came out best, don't you think? The colors are just more vivid. The blue boy is a collage of stamps and colors. I did use the Ranger white gel ink pen the give some accents in the corners.

Till next time! Tot de volgende keer!

3 atc

Hello everybody!
Almost 3 weeks ago since I last posted. I really should be updating more often :) I have been busy with some atc cards:

It's a connected three! Too bad the scan won't show the beautiful golden shine of the Perfect Pearls I mixed with Distress re-inker Tattered Rose for the background.
You know the technique? Take a mini-mister and mix some re-ink color with a little bit of Perfect Pearl and water and start spraying! If you have the craftsheet on your workdesk then you can dab up the extra spray around the cards and have some colored cards ready for a quick atc.
Stamping with the gorgeous "Gerbera" sheet from Chapel Road. Added a little flower with some golden color thread and look at them! Aren't they lovely? I'm sure I will lose these darlings soon in a trade.

These cards were made for a swap. I used the same spray technique. But this time I mixed Adirondack re-inker cranberry with pearl Perfect Pearls giving it a mottled pearly/red background. (I'm sure that wasn't good english but I could not find any other combination of words to describe the effect of spraying with ink and Perfect Pearls!)

And now for something completely different! Alcohol inks for the backgrounds (different colors on all three) Stamped directly on the background with black Staz-On ink. I used a punch in the corners because these are for a corner-punch-swap :) And yes, I admit... I'm guilty, I made a mistake in the lower right corner of the first atc! That's why that corner is cut off.

That's all for now people. Cya next time!
