TToc: day 4

Vierde dag, vierde tag op Tim Holtz' blog. Vandaag gaat het om de alcohol inkt op fragments of facets techniek. Voor instructies lees Tim's blogpost van vandaag! Facets heb ik niet maar fragments wel. Jammer genoeg heb ik toendertijd de fragments zonder gaatje gekocht. Maar gelukkig heb ik een echtgenoot die tandarts is. Hij is altijd beschikbaar als ik ergens een heel klein gaatje geboord moet hebben!

Fourth day, fourth tag at Tim Holtz' blog. Today it's all about alcohol ink on fragmenst of facets technique. Read Tim's blogpost for instructions! I don't have the facets but I bought the fragments some time ago. Too bad I bought the ones without a hole in it. But luckily I have a husband who is a dentist. He is always willing to drill a tiny hole according to my crafting wishes!
Ik had nog wat mooi rood kerstpapier en een klein engeltje in mijn voorraad. Ik vond het woord HOPE daar wel goed bij passen. Verder heb ik nog een witte rub-on gebruikt aan de bovenkant want de achtergrond was me iets te regelmatig.

I had some red christmas paper and a little angel in my hoard. I thought the word HOPE suited the angel. And I used a white rub-on swirl because the background was a bit too regular.
Jammer dat de stickles goudglitter achter het fragment niet zo opvallen op de foto. Het is erg moeilijk om een glimmer of shiny goed te fotograferen. Maar de sneeuwvlokken zijn goed gelukt!

Too bad the stickles gold behind the frament don't show as well on the photo. It's very difficult to capture shiny surfaces on a photo. But the snowflakes show up nicely!

TToC: day 3

Hallo allemaal! Vandaag heeft Tim Holtz weer een prachtige tag gemaakt. En natuurlijk had ik weer een probleem: geen tissue tape! Dus wat doe je dan? Je maakt je eigen tissue tape natuurlijk! Op onderstaande foto kan je zien wat ik gefrabiceerd heb. Stukjes scotch tape op mijn craftsheet geplakt en met archival inkt bestempeld. Daarmee heb ik het vogeltje beplakt.

Hi everyone! Today Tim Holtz made another beautiful tag. And I had to face a new problem: no tissue tape! What to do? Make you own tissue tape off course! I used sticky tape and archival ink to make my own tissue tape for the bird.
De rest was goed te doen, behalve het bloemetje. Met plakkerig plakband, plakkerige vingers en een hoop lawaai (kan je je voorstellen hoe ik daar zat in mijn studio?!) kreeg ik het voor elkaar een bloemetje te maken volgens de aanwijzingen van Tims video.

De rest was no problem, except the flower. With sticky fingers, sticky tape and a lot of strangled noises (can you imagine me sitting in my studio with a project like that?!) I managed to create a flower according to the instructions from Tim's video.
Ik heb een K van de salvage stickers gebruikt. K voor Kerst en Kardinaal vogel. Ook had ik nog een heel klein belletje die er prima bij paste. Voor de tak waar het vogeltje op zit heb ik maar de flourish gebruikt. Dat kan ook!

I used a K from the salvage stickers. In dutch Christmas and Cardinal bird start with a K. I had a little bell left over that looked cute on the tag. And I substituted the tree stamp with the flourish stamp. Worked like a charm!

TToC: day 2

De tweede tag gaf me wat kopzorgen. Ik heb namelijk geen cut 'n dry felt en ik heb ook niet de kersttak stempel. Dus heb ik er maar voor gekozen de kerstman te stempelen met distress inkt Barndoor red, Tea dye en Forest moss, direkt op de stempel. Direkt daarna geëmbossed met transparant embossing peoder. The second tag gave me some difficulties. I have no cut 'n dry felt or the branch stamp. I choose to ink the Santa stamp direktly with distress ink Barndoo red, Forest moss and Tea dye. Then I embossed the image with transparant embossing powder. The rest of the instructions you can read on Tim's blog!
Natuurlijk heb ik wel een beetje bling toegevoegd met Stickles Xmas red and Holly

TToC: day 1

Het is weer de tijd van het jaar en de 12 tags of Christmas (TToC) zijn weer begonnen op Tim Holtz' blog. Omdat ik gisteren geen tijd had om te beginnen maak ik er vandaag twee. Hier de eerste. Dit jaar maak ik er doosjes van die ik straks vul met kerstcocolaatjes. Een aardig presentje nietwaar?

It's that time of year again! Tim Holtz has started the 12 tags of Christmas! Yesterday was a busy day with no time to craft. Today I will do tag 1 and 2 and here is my take on the first tag. This year I'll make puffy boxes which will be filled with chcolate and make a nice little present, don't you think?
Natuurlijk moest ik even creatief zijn omdat niet alle spullen voorhanden zijn die Tim gebruikt. Van de vogelkooi snijmal en crackle paint Brushed Pewter heb ik het hekje gemaakt. Een beetje paint dabber Snowcap werd de sneeuw op het bordje. Voor het overige kun je de instructies lezen op Tims blog!

Off course I have to be creative because I don't have all the supplies Tim uses for his tags. I made the gate with the birdcage die and painted it with crackle paint Brushed Pewter for a metallic look. A littel paint dabber Snowcap became the snow on the signboard. Mijn muze is even met vakantie maar hier zat ik op te wachten! Nou komt ze weer thuis. Ik heb nou alweer zin om m'n hobbyhok.. pardon... studio in te duiken!

Christmas cards 5 (and alcohol ink)

Vanmiddag was ik in de plaatselijke hobbyzaak waar ik een paar kleuren alcohol inkt vond die ik nog niet had. Er stond een mevrouw naast mij die vroeg hoe ik dat nu gebruikte. Ik heb haar beloofd een uitleg op mijn blog te plaatsen. (klik HIER om naar de basis uitleg over alcohol inkt te gaan)

This afternoon I went to the LSS where I found a few colors alcohol ink that were missing in my stash. Next to me stood a lady who asked me how I used alohol ink. I promised her to make a tutrorial and post in on my blog. (Click HERE to go to the basic tutorial about alcohol ink)
Twee kaartjes met een alcohol inkt achtergrond. Het strikje heb ik met een vork gemaakt in het midden van het lint. Wil je weten hoe dat moet? Laat het me weten in een reactie dan maak ik daar ook een uitleg met foto's van. Die zijn er al wel hoor, maar nog een uitleg kan geen kwaad, vind je niet?

Two cards with alcohol ink background. The little bow was made with a fork in the middle of the ribbon. Do you want to know how I did that? Let me know in a comment then I'll post a tutorial about that too. There are tutorials about that already but one more won't hurt, don't you think?
Deze kaart heb ik nog gemaakt vandaag voor een 90 minuten uitdaging. Binnen 90 minuten moest je een kaart gemaakt en gepost hebben. De uitdaging werd moeilijker omdat je iets wat je niet speciaal voor je hobby gekocht had moest gebruiken. Ik heb maar een papieren zakdoekje gepakt!

This card was made today for a 90 minute scramble. Within 90 minutes you had to make and post the card. The difficulty was that you had to use "something unexpected", something you didn't buy for cardmaking. I used a paper towel!
