Two postcards

Yesterday I made two postcards.
The first one is inspired by Tim Holtz's tag #10. I made this for a mentally challenged but always cheerful girl. I thought she deserved some gold bling on her card! The second one is for a girl that was rescued from a serious home situation. She managed to stay friendly and open despite all she has been through. This postcard was inspired by Tim Holtz' tag #2.

I hope these cards gives them a reason to smile! I used the new stamps Christa got for her birthday, thanks Christa!

Guest designer: This Thursday

Being asked to be guest designer for This Thursday was a pleasantly unexpected surprise! Of course I said "yes!" and shortly thereafter I received a package from sponsor Cosmo Cricket containing their lovely Crafting Kit "Oh Joy".
Of course I had already looked at their site and I was secretly hoping for some of these designer papers! Check out Cosmo Cricket for more lovely craft supplies!
Personally I have been scrapbooking and card/atc/tag making for about 10 years already. It is by far the longest time I have stayed with one hobby and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon!
Crafting with paper and stamps is an endless joy. Giving away home made gifts is a satisfying eperience. I have made a long journey to be where I am today and I still have many places to go and sights to see.
I wish all of you joy on your art-journey!

First sample: a gift box for chocolates or gift certificate or cookies or ... or ... Dimensions: 4x8 cm. Punch two holes in the top for the ribbon. Decorate as you wish before glueing box.

Second sample: Christmas card. I used the flourish mask from Tim Holtz and a fragment.

Third sample: little booklet for photo memories and journaling. Turorial HERE.

Fourth sample: Decorated matchbox and candle. To be wrapped in transparant foil closed with a ribbon as a Chritmas gift. I made a bunch of these last Christmas and they were a hugh succes!

Fifth sample: Two gift tags. Tag left: technique used tag 5 of Tim Holtz. Tag right: candy and presents are the keys to a young boy's heart!

There you are. I had so much fun making these samples. If you wish to know anything about how to do something, just ask. The design papers from Cosmo Cricket were absolutely lovely and easy to work with. It proves my conviction: good materials makes for best endresults! And that goes for all the craft supplies; glue, paper, scissors, ink etc etc. If something doesn't work for you, please try something else or ask directions.

Guest designer!

I am going to be a guest designer for This Thursday! Next week on Thursday, december 11th, it's going to be my turn. Yesterday I received a package from the sponsor of that week with products I have to use in my examples. It's going to be fantastic!
I am very busy right now with taking pictures and writing the tutorials I will post on december 11th after the samples go live on This Thursday. Please be patient and visit again. I am working on not only cards but also tags and ideas for little christmas gifts.....

Ik ben gast-ontwerper voor This Thursday! Op donderdag 11 december is het mijn beurt. Gisteren kreeg ik een pakketje van de sponsor met dingen die ik moet gebruiken. Het ziet er prachtig uit!
Ik ben nu erg druk bezig met het maken van de voorbeelden en goede foto's ervan nemen. Ook maak ik wat tutorials. Alles wordt gepost nadat This Thursday gepost heeft. Dus geduld en kom langs op 11 december! Ik ben bezig met van alles en nog wat.....

Tutorial tag uploaded

I have uploaded a new tag at R2Scrap tutorials. If you are into embossing with different colors next to each other go check it out. I used black and transparant but can you imagine all kinds of colors? I can!

Also today I received my prize package from Dawn. It was a super heavy crazy big envelope, filled bursting at the seams with ribbons, paper, stamp images, 2 clear stamps, a ring with masks and woodware tags. And as a bonus (as if it wasn't enough!) she included a bunch of her own tags and atc's. Lovely eye candy to look at! Thanks a lot Dawn! Go check out her blog: Tag you're It

Ik heb een nieuwe tag op R2Scrap tutorial geplaatst. Als je van twee kleuren embossing naast elkaar houdt ga dan even kijken! Ik heb zwarte en transparant gebruikt maar kan je je andere kleuren voorstellen? Ik wel!

Vandaag heb ik een hele super dikke envelop in de bus gekregen. Tot barsten toe gevuld met lintjes, papier, afdrukken, 2 clearstamps, een ring met maskers en woodware tags. En alsof dat nog niet genoeg was heeft ze er ook nog een aantal van haar eigen tags en atc's bij gedaan. Fantastisch om te zien!

Scrap layout: Testudo Horsfieldii

Our youngest daughter Elske had her 8th birthday this summer. She has always wanted a housepet, something she could cuddle. But unfortunately her father en her sister are both allergic and it is impossible for us to adopt a puppie or kitten. We do have a goldfish named Willem but he is not that huggable!
So this is our solution: A tortoise named Flora. And she is a lovely tortoise! Always ready to explore the gardens or the house. And she is cuddly! She loves to cuddle up under Elske's sweater, nice and warm!

Onze jongste dochter Elske werd acht jaar deze zomer. Ze wilde altijd al een huisdier waar ze mee kon knuffelen. Helaas zijn haar vader en zus heel erg allergisch dus een puppie of een kitten is onmogelijk voor ons. We hebben wel een goudvis genaamd Willem, maar die houdt niet zo van knuffelen!
Dit is onze oplossing: een schildpad, genaamd Flora. En ze is een hele lieve schildpad! Altijd bereid om de tuin te verkennen of het huis. En ze is knuffelig! Ze houdt ervan om onder Elske's trui te kruipen, lekker warm!
I took a simple basic cardstock page and used the masks from Tim Holtz to make my own background. On the left the flourish, overstamped with a old-lettering stamp. The title Testudo was done later.

Het is een gewone cardstock pagina die ik met de maskers van Tim Holtz bewerkt heb. Links de flourish overstempeld met een oud-letters stempel. De titel Testudo is later toegevoegd.

Challenge: Tag You're It!

This is my entry for Tag You're It challenge: red/green. I made a tag from red en green cardstock and masked the music notes. The splatters embossed with gold. The sheet music printed on a transparant sheet en cut in two strips. Attached to tag with split pins. A quote and some ribbons completed the tag.

Dit is mijn bijdrage voor de Tag You're It uitdaging: rood/groen. Ik heb een tag gemaakt van rood en groen cardstock en daarop de muziek noten gemaskerd. De vlekken zijn geëmbossed met goud. Een stukje notenbalk afgedrukt op een overhead sheet (=transparant). Vastgemaakt aan de tag met splitpennen. Een quote en wat lintjes maakten het af.
