Christmas cards 3

Nog eentje voor vandaag. Deze is mijn bijdrage voor de Art Journey uitdaging #2 "tape". Ik heb de tekst met StazOn op scotch plakband gezet. Op de achtergrond zijn de sneeuwvlokjes met Milled Lavender gestempeld. Niet direkt kerstkleuren maar het hoeft ook niet altijd in rood/groen/goud!

One more card for today. This is my entry for the Art Journey challenge #2 "tape". I stamped the text on scotch tape with StazOn. Color of the snowflakes in the background is Milled Lavender. This is an unconventional christmas color but it doesn't always have to be red/green/gold!
De belletjes heb ik ooit eens van een armbandje afgehaald. Wie wat bewaard die heeft wat! Alle stempels zijn van Art Journey.

I salvaged the bells from a little bracelet a long time ago thinking they might come in handy someday! All stamps are from Art Journey.

Christmas cards 2

Ik heb mijn lieve muze weer op bezoek hoor. De ideeën stromen binnen. Hier een kerstkaartje in stervorm. De achtergrondjes heb ik met zelfgemaakt glimmermist gemaakt. Alles bestempeld met stempels van Art Journey.

My darling muse is visiting me again. The ideas just come to me in abundance! Here a starshaped Christmascard. All stamps are from Art Journey.
Ik heb drie detail foto's gemaakt. Je kan de vorm zo heel goed zien. Op de kerstboom zitten transparante dotjes en Stickles crystal ice op de flourish. Gebruikte kleuren: Stormy Sky re-inker voor de achtergrond en Chipped Saphire op de details.

I made three detail photo's. You can clearly see the shape. I put little glossy dots on the christmas tree. And Stickles crystal ice on the flourish. Colors used: Stormy Sky distress re-inker for the background and Chipped Saphire on the embellishments.
Hier een kaartje naar een voorbeeld van Willy Anderson. Ik vond het zo leuk hoe ze de zegels als kerstballen had gebruikt. Achtergrond van zelfgemaakte glimmermist. (je weet wel: distress re-inker en perfect pearls in een minimister)

Christmas cards

Hero Arts had een kleine uitdaging op hun Flickr groep. De uitdaging was om met de kleuren Kraft, rood en zwart binnen 90 minuten een kaart te maken. Heel erg leuk om te doen, niet teveel nadenken! Dat doe ik nog wel eens fout, ik bedenk teveel en dan gooi ik het project in de prullenbak omdat het niet wil lukken en ik er zat van ben!

Hero Arts had a little challenge on their Flickr group. A 90 minute scramble quickcard. The challenge was to use the colors Kraft, Red and black and make a card in 90 minutes. Wonderful to do this, just don't think to much! That's often a mistake of mine, I think to much about the layout and then I just throw the project away because I'm sick of it!
Snel, simpel en gemakkelijk, vind je niet? Ik had nog kleine rode kraaltjes en die waren perfect om als besjes te dienen.
De volgende kaart had ik gezien in de Craft Stamper van oktober. Eens een heel andere vorm dan we gewend zijn. De boompjes zijn uitgesneden met een snijmal in de cuttlebug. Alle stempels zijn van Art Journey, behalve de tekst Merry Christmas. Die is van My Paper World.

Quick, simple and easy, don't you think? I had these little red beads that were perfect for berries.
The next card is based on a shape I saw in the Craft Stamper october. Something completely different! The trees were cut with a die and the cuttlebug. All the stamps are from Art Journey except the quote Merry Christmas. That one is from My Paper World.
Hier kun je de zijkant in detail zien. De sneeuw is witte paintdabber Snowcap die ik met een tandenstoker op de randjes heb gesmeerd. Een restje transparant plastic is geëmbossed met de cuttlebug met sneeuwvlokjes.

Here a detailed view of the side. The snow is white paintdabber Snowcap. I applied it with a toothpick on the edges. A scrappiece of transparant plastic is embossed through the cuttlebug with snowflakes.

Crea Weekend Hardenberg

Gisteren zijn we (Christa, Harma en ik) naar de het Crea weekend najaar in Hardenberg geweest. Daar vond ik prachtig stempels van My Paper World. Ik heb gelijk drie setjes meegenomen waarvan twee kerstsets. Met de kerststempels onderstaande drie kaarten gemaakt:

Yesterday we (Christa, Harma and me) went to Crea Weekend. I found these lovely stamps from My Paper World. I could not resist them and bought three sets! The two Christmas sets were used in the following three cards:


Ik heb mezelf dit keer getrakteerd op een nieuwe snijmal van Tim Holtz: Tattered Florals.
This time I treated myself to another Tim Holtz die: Tattered Florals.
Ook Art Journey was aanwezig met een stand en ze hielden twee nieuwe stempelsheets ten doop. Ze hebben er weer prachtige kerststempels bij in hun assortiment!

Art Journey was present too and they celebrated the release of two new Christmas stampsets. They are really gorgeous and a welcome addition to their collection!
Op onze manier hebben we World Cardmaking Day dus goed gevierd! Helaas heb ik momenteel erg veel last van een tennisarm en dat geeft wel wat problemen met stempelen. Maar goed, "het gaat wel weer over" zeggen we dan! Ik kon me natuurlijk niet inhouden met al deze mooi aanwinsten!

So you see, we did celebrate World Cardmaking Day! Unfortunately I suffer from a tennis elbow and that's a real bother when I want to stamp! But, oh well "It will pass" we say here in Holland! Despite the pain I couldn't stop stamping with all these treasures!

four cards

Just a few cards I made. I think this first one needs a little bling somewhere, what do you think?
This purple one got enough bling. The grass stamp is embossed with white embossing powder. I had a hard time getting the ribbon through the button hole!
As you probably noticed I got a new nestabilities shape for my birthday a week ago. I love experimenting with it!
Here is a card with the new roses stamp from Art Journey. I love that set!

holiday over! back to real life.

Hallo allemaal! Wat een lange luie zomervakantie. Eindeloze dagen aan zee op een terras met een biertje in het handje en het zonnetje op het bolletje. Heerlijk! De kinderen vermaakten zich prima op het strand en in de golven. En op de camping was het nog precies zo gezellig als ik me herinnerde van vorig jaar. We hebben vele barbeque's georganiseerd met onze vakantie buren Jan en Loes.
Op een dag vertelden ze dat ze naar een receptie moesten. Een collega en vriend van Jan nam afscheid en zou een mooi reis naar New York aangeboden krijgen. Jan had alleen de waardebon en natuurlijk kon ik het niet laten om daar een mooie omslag voor te maken! Zo is het NOG leuker om te geven! Ik heb wel een naam hoog te houden dus ik heb me een beetje uitgesloofd!

Hello everybody! What long lazy summer this was. Endless days at the beach with a beer in hand and the sun shining. Lovely! The children had a great time on the beach and playing with the waves. We organised many barbeque's together with our holiday neighbours Jan and Loes.
One day they had to go to a reception for a friend of Jan. The man was to be presented with a fantastic gift: a journey to New York! Jan only had the giftcheque so I really had to step in at that point and make a wrapper for it! They know I am an enthousiast with stamps and ink and I did my best for them with the limited supplies I had available. Afterwards they told me everyone at the reception had admired the certificate wrapper!

Voorkant: Vlakken gestempeld in verschillende kleuren distress inkt en met een fine-liner wolkenkrabbers van gemaakt. Zonnetje gemaskerd en gesponsd met Mustard Seed geel. Letters van Tim Holtz stempel set.

Front: Stamped squares in different colors distress ink and used a fine-liner to draw the skyscrapers and windows. I masked the sun and inked it with Mustard Seed yellow. Letters from Tim Holtz stampset.
Binnenkant: een huiselijk bloemetje met natuurlijk een flourish van de Tim Holtz Alterations die waar ik mezelf op getrakteerd heb deze zomer.

Achterkant: natuurlijk de Amerikaanse vlag, of in elk geval een impressie ervan. Het aantal streepjes en sterretjes klopt niet!

Back: De American flag or at least an impression thereof. The number of stars and stripes don't match with a real flag!

Holiday approaching

De vakantie komt eraan en dat betekent wassen, kampeerspullen opzoeken, caravan volstouwen en zo verder. Zaterdag gaan we voor vier weken naar de camping en we hopen dat niet alle mooie weer verbruikt is!
Voor het zover is nog even twee kaartje. Ik krijg geen genoeg van de Engraved Fruits set van Hero Arts. Zeker met dit warme weer is het zo verfrissend!

The holiday is fast approaching. This means laundry, searching for the camping gear, restocking the caravan and more. This Saturday we will journey to the camping for four weeks of holiday fun. I sure hope there is some warm weather left for us!
Before we go I have two cards to share with you. I can't get enough of Hero Arts Engraved Fruits. It is so refreshing, especially with this warm weather!
De bloem op deze kaart is van leer en heb ik gekregen van Rikke uit Denemarken. De rode heeft een laag stickles Frost, om de spikkels op de aardbeien te imiteren. Ik heb er gaatjes ingeknipt met de crop-a-dile en kleine glimsteentjes doorheen gedrukt.

The flower on this card is cut out of leather. I got these leather flowers from Rikke from Denmark. De red one has a layer of stickles Frost to mimick the specks on the strawberries. I cut holes with the crop-a-dile and pushed gemstones in the holes.
Dit fruit is over elkaar gestempeld met maskering. Ik heb het ingekleurd met een waterpenseel en distress inkten. Toen was de achtergrond nog wat te wit en heb ik het fruit weer gemaskerd en de gras stempel afgedrukt met Bundled Sage, een zachte groene kleur.
Als je nog met vakantie gaat: een heel goede reis en plezierige tijd gewenst en als je net terug bent dan hoop ik dat je een fijne vakantie gehad hebt!

The fruits are stamped with the masking technique. I colored them with distress inks and a waterpencil. The card was a bit too white so I maksed again and stamped the grass stamp with Bundled Sage, a soft green color.
